Holiday With An Author - Day 1
This is the final week of my deadline. You know what that means: limited internet usage…or, that’s the theory. To help with my addiction perfectly normal enjoyment of the internet, and in light of the holiday season, I’m going to launch a week-long giveaway. This is a way for you to win some signed books while talking about some romance authors you know or soon will.
Today’s author is Eden Bradley. I knew about Eden from chatter online about her books and from seeing her books in stores. We finally met at a Cheers for Writers event in Burbank in November. We were on a panel together with Vicki Lewis Thompson and Leigh Court. We had a great group discussion and a lot of fun. And, I bought a copy of Eden’s anthology, Exclusive (with Jaci Burton and Lisa Renee Jones). Eden was nice enough to sign it so I could offer it here.
Here’s some info on Eden’s novella, Sanctuary, in the anthology:
Devin Delaney has never thought of herself as kinky. But when her best friend takes her to an urban BDSM nightclub in San Francisco, she meets Shaye Vincent. He’s beautiful, mysterious, commanding-and supremely kinky. Shaye takes her on a journey into the dark side of sex, reminding Devin of the secret fantasies she’s always tried so hard to ignore. But she can’t ignore them anymore; Shaye is bringing every single one of them to life. When he takes her to Sanctuary, an exclusive and elegant BDSM club in a mansion on Nob Hill, her fantasies shift into overdrive. Life with Shaye is exciting beyond her wildest dreams, but can she accept this side of herself? And can she find love in this sensually extreme lifestyle?
Now, this might not be everyone’s “thing.” BDSM is not my usual reading preference, but I enjoyed this. And, you don’t know unless you try it. So… leave a comment here about Eden, her books, the subject matter or whatever else you think is relevant, and you’ll be entered to win this anthology. I’ll pick a winner tomorrow (Tuesday) night. The winner will be posted here. You can enter until you see the winner posted, but feel free to comment as long as you wish.
UPDATE: The winner is Nichole!!! Congrats. Email me with your contact information and I’ll get that book out to you.

Though I haven’t read any of Eden’s work I’ve read Jaci Burton’s Wild, Wicked & Wanton and loved it. Some books can be a little too graphic, I enjoy the well written ones where the heroine gets in touch with her more wild side. I’d love a chance to read this anthology.

I’d love to win this book! I’m a big fan of Jaci Burton, and I like anthologies when I’m short on time–which is always.

This book is actually on my to buy list. Jaci Burton is why it is on my list, but Eden Bradley’s story sounds interesting. I would love to win it.

Please don’t enter me in the contest since I already have the book. I bought it cuz of Jaci - love her work. There was just one little issue I had with that story, but it’s my hang-up and others may not have a problem with it. It was still my favorite out of the three.

Eden is great and so is Jaci (I don’t know the other author, but I’m sure she’s great as well
). Please don’t enter me in the contest, but I just wanted to post and show my suport of these authors. Good luck, everyone!

This sounds so good! I added it to my wishlist! I have one of Eden’s books on my tbr list. I would love to read this one. Thanks for the chance!

Hi HelenKay ~ good luck with your deadline. Please don’t enter me either. I just wanted to chime in and say I’ve read the book, and Eden’s others, and I really enjoyed them! I don’t usually read BDSM, but Eden’s writing is quite engaging and enjoyable. She’s also a really nice person to boot!

Eden’s a new author to me, and I do love anthologies. It sounds like this would be a neat way to take a walk on the wilder side
December 10th, 2007 at 3:47 pm
I have never read Eden, but I have read Jaci Burton.
I would love to win this book.
December 10th, 2007 at 3:50 pm
I’ve never read any of Eden’s books, but would love to win this book. I love finding new authors.
December 10th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
Eden is a wonderful writer and person! And this book is wonderful - all three authors write an excellent story. Don’t enter me in the contest, I just wanted to talk up Eden.

have not read a eden book, but sounds so hot
December 10th, 2007 at 11:06 pm
Along with Eden and Jaci, I recommend Sasha White! I enjoy all three authors as the characters act maturely yet are tender and romantic with each other. Plus the stories are just so darn sexy and hot! I love novellas, though if I were lucky enough to win this autographed copy I may be in fear of wrinking the pages from re-reading

Good heavens, I am sad for myself. I don’t know what “BDSM” means. Guess someone better enter me in the contest out of pity for the ignorant….

I haven’t read any of Eden or Lisa’s work, but I have read some of Jaci’s and enjoyed them. I’ve read a few BDSM novels/ short stories and liked them; and the write up for Eden’s sounds interesting too!
December 11th, 2007 at 7:49 am
LA doesn’t know what BDSM means and I’m not sure if I do, either! Bondage, Domination, Sado-Masochism? Is that right? It sounds so innocent as an acronym. Still want to win the book.
December 11th, 2007 at 8:10 am
I haven’t read Eden yet, she is another of those authors I have been wanting to try. (You know…so many books, so little time and money!)

And I don’t mind a little BDSM..in my reading of course. Don’t want you to think I am divulging TMI!!!
And Jaci and Lisa are great…them I have read.
Allison, I have to agree with you about Sasha.

I read her first book, The Dark Garden, and found it intriguing. I don’t know much about the BDSM world, so it was interesting to get a glimpse. And the hero was yummy!
December 11th, 2007 at 11:26 am
Eden’s novella, Sanctuary, in the EXCLUSIVE anthology sounds wonderful! And, Jaci Burton is one of my favorite auhtors.
December 11th, 2007 at 12:00 pm
We have a lot of fans for Jaci and Eden - fabulous! I haven’t read the third author, Lisa Renee Jones, but this is a great opportunity to check her out.
And, for Laura and Jill: BDSM = bondage, domination, sadomasochism. You know, your usual tea party stuff [ahem].
December 11th, 2007 at 1:09 pm
I have read a few BDSM books in the past and not been to happy with them but this one sounds like it will be a good read. If I am unlucky enough not to win it I will have to add it to my wishlist.
December 11th, 2007 at 1:37 pm
This sounds like a fun read! I have read Jaci Burton, but Eden is new to me.
December 11th, 2007 at 3:35 pm
I would love to read this book. I am still discovering a little about this genre. I find it in alot of the books that have multiple stories or authors. LOL I would love to read it.
December 11th, 2007 at 4:24 pm
I’ve enjoyed all three of these authors and am very interested in winning a copy!
December 11th, 2007 at 4:47 pm
Don’t enter me in the contest because I’ve already read this book. I have to say that it was very interesting to say the least. I’m not into BDSM, but I have read a couple of books that were surprisingly good. If you want to try something new or different I think it’s definitely worth a shot. This book was fun because it has three authors and three very different styles so you are sure to find at least one you might like.
December 14th, 2007 at 3:14 pm
I haven’t read any of Eden’s work, but really enjoy Jaci’s. I learn about so many authors by first reading their work in anthologies…please enter me.
