SATC Thoughts
I went to see the Sex And The City movie with a friend last night. Yeah, I know. Little late to that party. I actually held off because, well, the show’s finale summed up their lives so well for me that I didn’t see what a movie could add. But I have a weak spot for Mr. Big, so I went.
It’s good I did since the movie totally worked for me. The women, the clothes, the accessories, the storylines - all good. I can’t really explain why Mr. Big and Steve can do such crappy things to the women in their lives (Carrie and Miranda) and still I love them, but I do. I’m not one to gasp during movies, but I did it here. My one question was with Carrie’s movie ending. It had me wondering if it was the right one but, again, it worked.
I also enjoyed the scenes where Carrie, an author, moves her book around in a bookstore. Made me chuckle not because I would do that but because she’s so nonchalant about it. And was that an Adriana Trigiani book she moves? Not sure. Also a favorite was the use of a book that doesn’t actually exist. Yeah, that book Love Letters Of Great Men that plays such a big part in the Carrie/Mr. Big plot isn’t real. Apparently bookstores are getting requests for it. Kind of makes me wonder if a publisher is out there is rushing to get one on the shelves.

I went and saw it last night too! And I ditto everything that you said. I’m a huge fan of the series and the only reason I waited was as a favor to the friend who wanted to go with me. I loved the movie, and yes, it worked for me to. It really brought back fun memories of the series for me. Made me nostalgic. I also laughed when she moved her book. Interesting that the love letters book isn’t real.
And why is it that I find Chris Noth totally sexy as Big, but not at any other time? And random fact, he seems such a huge part of the series (and obviously is/was) but I found out he was on less than half the episodes (41 of 94).
I have a huge urge to go back and watch all the seasons again.

I saw SATC over the weekend with all of my girlfriends. We had a girls night out and that was the big hit of the night. I loved the series but really wanted to throw something at both Big and Steve. I loved when Charlotte got to yell at Big!
I too think Chris Noth is sexy as Big, but not so much in anything else. I really thought he was in many more episodes, but I guess he was talked about so much, he just seemed a bigger part of the show.

OMG, I saw it the weekend it came out. Weren’t you like GASP! Waaaah???? It was a FABULOUS movie. I love how they pulled it off in ALL the storylines. Loved it.
I wanted to go see it again right after I saw it and it WILL be on my list of DVD’s I HAVE to have.

I saw it Wednesday night with two girlfriends and though I didn’t regularly watch the show, I liked the movie a lot. I had the same reaction about Steve & Big and how they did hurtful things to Miranda & Carrie yet I still ended up liking them anyway. I will say I’m glad Carrie didn’t get married in that hideous headgear from the wedding. The dress was gorgeous but the bird, eww.
And why didn’t Samantha get with Dante? That would have been so cool to see a woman just turning 50 and still has it going on.

Didnt care for the show - only caught a few of them; but saw the movie since my girlfriend wanted to see it and thought it was great.
