Everything Changes
The book JOY OF SEX is being rewritten. I’m guessing this means sex has changed since the 70s…? Kind of seems like a strange idea, but okay.
There’s an article in the Sydney Morning Herald about this. Here’s my favorite line from the interview:
Quilliam noted that some tips from the original had to be removed, because they were illegal.
Uh…
Well, anyway, look for the new and improved (and totally legal) version in bookstores soon.

Um, illegal? I don’t think I want to know!

Hey, now I want to know which tips were illegal since there are many copies at work.

My question is whether or not they were illegal at the time of original publication or have only become illegal since then. lol

Not sure what all of the illegal parts were, though I’m curious, but here is one quote that gives some insight:
“One of them was having sex on horseback, the other was having sex on a moving motorcycle, although I do include guidelines on how to have sex on a stationary motorcycle,” she said.
So, apparently, the sex-while-driving thing was a problem. Happy to know the author fixed that with the stationary version. I, of course, am oddly intrigued to read the edited version now.

Well hey that’s no fun LOL. Now I’m curious about both versions.

Very interesting . . .
A friend gave me a copy of this when I got married, some 29 years ago, and while I didn’t read it word-for-word, I don’t recall anything that I would have considered illegal. Hmmm. . . I wonder whatever happened to my copy - I haven’t seen it for years. I most likely got rid of it when my girls learned how to read!

Very disconcerted to realize I have a book with illegalities.

Huh. I read this years ago, and don’t remember anything that would’ve been illegal. I do remember the hippy illustrations. Ah, nostalgia.
