I continue to be sick. Apparently a sinus infection lasts three years…or it certainly feels that way. It also affects your television watching preferences because early this morning, before diving into a novella I’m writing for a January 1st deadline, I watched a movie. This movie had just started when I turned the television on. I didn’t actually put it on.**
It was one of those movies I started watching and couldn’t turn off. That is not a reflection on how good it is. Oh, hell no. The acting and plot were overdone. It was very pretty with this washed out sepia look but really not good otherwise.
The movie? A WALK IN THE CLOUDS. And Keanu needs to stick to ScFi. Just saying.
**That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I totally agree about the movie. What’s funny is that my b-i-l and sister love that movie. I wanted my money back from cable just from catching it on my tv.
by Liza December 9th, 2008 at 3:05 pmI hated that movie! A friend recommended it to me as an excellent romance. Ugh. It was awful.
I’ve also had a cold for weeks. I watched FLIRTING WITH FORTY on Lifetime the other night. Very cute!
by Jill Sorenson December 9th, 2008 at 4:09 pmOverwrought, yes. Trite, yes. Wooden, yes. But I loved the actress who played the love interest–something very serene in her face–and when he says he’s not free and leaves her crying on the bed. My mom, who saw it with me in the theater ages ago, got very upset by the finale because grape vine roots can extend down hundreds of feet. No way Keanu and his lovely arms could pull it right out of the ground like that.
Sorry about your cold. Hope the TV selection gets better for you as you recover.
by Carrie Lofty December 9th, 2008 at 4:52 pmheh. isn’t he an alien in his new film? [and if so, how so very fitting]
by limecello December 9th, 2008 at 7:22 pmOh no, you’re sick too! Get better soon! (and maybe we should stop meeting like this! :))
by Jill Shalvis December 9th, 2008 at 8:22 pmI hope you’re feeling better soon
My SO’s been sick for a couple of weeks now too.
I love Keanu Reeves no matter what he stars in! I just like to LOOK at him.
