Fiction On Top Of Fiction

Is anyone watching the show Castle? Someone besides me must be since it got renewed. For those who don’t, Richard Castle is a bestselling mystery writer who tags along with the police – a sexy female homicide detective, to be exact – on whom he is basing his next series. I admit I was skeptical at first, but Nathan Fillion won me over. He’s charming and the relationship with his daughter is one of those “awwww” things.

Now comes word of an interesting Castle tie-in novel. The fictional Castle’s book will be posted in weekly chapters on ABC.com starting in August. The full book will hit the shelves in September. Sounds like a good marketing idea to me.

His relationship with is daughter is genuine, loving, snarky, and totally adorable–the best part of the show. I watch it for Nathan Fillion alone, at first to reminisce about Captain Reynolds! Then I got more into the show. It’s not bad, but I still miss “Firefly.” And it only makes sense to do a fictionalized tie-in like that. Someone was awake behind the marketing wheel.

I am a late comer to the show a good friend LuAnn McLane talked about it and now I am hooked. I can’t wait to see what the book is all about.

I love the scenes with his daughter.

I LOVE the show and it comes right after my other fav show, Dancing with the Stars or at least it did last season; dont know if willl be in same time slot.

I love all the characters, the banter between h/h is so funny – just like a good funny romance novel and Nathan Fillion is not too hard to look at. Hunk – nothing sexier than a handsome funny man!

Susan Sullivan is a blast – I loved when Castle said to his mom, “you are giving realtionship advice? – you don’t even know who my father is?. LOL.

I like the closeness between him and his daughter, and really enjoyed the poker scenes.

They left you with a great cliff hanger – don’t really understand what the significance of the slant of the knife would was that killed the detective’s mother. Anyone out there get it? Isnt if awful, I remember Nathan’s name/character but cannot for the life of me remember the female lead’s character name – real name Stana something. At any rate so glad it was renewed.
