Jayne Ann Krentz was one of the first romance authors I ever read. I got hooked on the genre, so I am very loyal to those authors I picked up first. That means I buy all of JAK’s books, regardless of which name she writes under. Her current series about the Arcane Society is not my favorite, yet still I buy.
I have noticed changes to her covers lately. Her contemporaries under the JAK name seem to be getting sexier. Her last futuristic cover…well, I hated it. I just saw her upcoming historical romance under the Amanda Quick name. It’s different from her previous. I can’t figure out if I like it, but it sure did catch my attention.

That futuristic is so brightly colored that I keep reading the title as “Crayons of Night.” I think I like the historical cover, though.
I read JAK faithfully when she wrote standalone books, but I have limited patience with series/trilogies/whatever, so I haven’t picked up her books lately. I should probably make an effort to get back to reading her– her books are generally pretty good.

by SuperWendy March 2nd, 2012 at 10:04 amI didn’t like her cover for Canyons of Night, either. It REALLY didn’t fit the heroine, either. Love the “Crayons of Night” title oops.
